2016년, 박효진의 첫 번째 솔로 프로젝트 -삭임-은 국악기의 대표적인 현악기이자 자연에서 나온 재료로 만들어진 가장 자연적인 악기 ‘가야금’의 기본 구조를 파악하는 것으로부터 시작하였다. 이번 프로젝트를 통하여 몸의 일부, 어쩌면 작가의 전부가 되어버린 가야금의 기본 구조(오동나무 공명통, 명주실로 꼰 줄, 줄의 굵기, 안족, 현침, 돌괘, 부들 등)를 새로운 관점으로 탐구하게 되었고, 가야금 연주에 다양한 변화를 주었다. 또한 ‘악기 연주’에 ‘춤’과 ‘노래’를 더하여 전통 종합예술의 표현과 형태에 대한 실험을 했다.

Parkhyojin Solo project 1. Sak-im start by exploring the fundamental structure of ‘Gayageum,’ which is Korean traditional music’s representative instrument and the most natural instrument made with materials from nature. In this performance, Hyojin Park explores gayageum, which became a part of herself, if not whole, from a new perspective, playing it with different techniques, and experiments not only with ‘Musical technique‘ but also with the traditional integrated art forms, ‘Dancing’ and ‘Singing.’

제주에서 출발한 박효진의 두 번째 솔로 프로젝트는 단독 공연의 형태로서 작가 본인만의 색깔을 더욱 진하게 나타낸다. 관객에게 전문성 있는 문화예술 공연을 제공하는 동시에 관객과의 소통을 중요시한다. 소품, 의상 등 주제에 어울리는 분위기로 무대 연출을 하고, 공연 중 대화를 주고받기도 하는 열린 공연으로 공연자와 관객이 함께 공연을 만들어가는 부분이 특징적이다. 또한 공연에 참여하는 모두가 하나가 되어 즉흥 음악을 만들어 내기도 하는데, 이는 특별한 경험과 시간을 제공하게 된다. 프로그램의 내용은  <박효진 솔로 프로젝트 1. 삭임>에서 공연되었던 곡 일부와 2017년 3월 31일 싱글 발매된 자작곡을 포함한다.ﾠ

Hyojin Park’s solo performance, <Parkhyojin solo project 2>, puts more focus on communicating with audiences than <Solo project 1> while presenting her own artistic style more vividly. Especially, the Q&A session during the performance shows the feature of an open performance. Also, the audience and the performer, as one, create improvised music together, offering a special experience and time to both the artist and the audience. The program includes some of the songs performed in <Parkhyojin solo project 1> and 2017.3.31 self-composed songs released as singles.

세 번째 솔로 프로젝트 –찾아가는 콘서트-는 박효진이 솔리스트로서 관객에게 더욱 가까이 다가가는 프로그램으로 진행한다. 전체적으로 공연자와 관객이 같이 만들어가는 열린 공연의 기능을 하고, 악가무가 함께하는 다양한 공연을 제공하여 대화가 있는 공연으로 관객들이 충분히 즐길 수 있게 하는 것이 가장 큰 성격이다. 일상 공간 또는 학교, 도서관 등의 교육기관, 복지시설 및 기업체에 찾아가는 이번 콘서트에서는 천변만화하는 감정에서 비롯되는 이야기와 일상생활에서 나타나는 모든 내면의 소리, 희로애락을 박효진만의 방식으로 표현한 프로그램을 선보인다.

Amid the process of sharing with the public through performances, <Solo project 3> conducts programs that bring Hyojin Park closer to audiences as a soloist. Overall, it serves as an open performance where the performer and the audience co-create. Its biggest attribute is being a dialogical performance that audiences can thoroughly enjoy. This concert, held in everyday spaces, educational institutes like schools and libraries, welfare facilities, and private companies, presents programs that tell stories based on ever-changing emotions.

일상의 경험을 소중히 하면서 그것들을 모아 음악 안에 녹여내고 있는 빅효진은 이번 공연에서 산조라는 전통 장르를 기반으로 한 작품을 재구성하고, 폭넓은 음역을 지닌 25현 가야금 창작곡이 초연된다. 총 10곡 구성으로 과거 7~8년 전에 작업한 미발표 6곡을 포함한다. 전체적으로 작품에서 흘러나오는 높고 낮음, 느리고 빠르며 강하고 약한 소리가 있다. 이러한 소리의 느낌, 소리의 감정에 중점을 두면서 그 자체로 어떠한 나들이의 새로운 경험으로 다가가게 되길 바란다. 특히, 이번 공연은 공연의 프로듀싱과 기획, 연출 과정을 통해 솔리스트로서 관객들에게 더욱 가까이 다가가기 위해 노력했다. 이번 공연을 마친 후 3개월간 스페인에 머물렀으며, 해외전통문화예술단의 자격으로서 현지인을 대상으로 전통음악을 가르치는 둥 교육과 공연, 워크숍 등 다양한 활동을 펼쳤다.

Valuing everyday experiences and putting them into music, Hyojin Park reconstructs a piece based on the traditional genre ‘Sanjo’ in this performance, and showcases a self-composed Gayageum song with a wide range of notes for the first time. Hyojin Park recital ‘Day out’ have 10 set list which includes 6 an unpublished work about 7~8 years ago. This performance has the sounds which is high and low, slow and fast, strong and weak that flow from the works. By Focusing on the emotions of the sound, She hope that it will become a new experience of ‘Day out’. Also She tried to get closer to the audience as a soloist, in the process of producing, planning, and staging the performances. Especially, after the performance, she though traditional music to locals in Spain for three months and engaged in various activities, like lectures, performances and workshops, as a part of an overseas traditional cultural arts group.

국악기에서부터 소리, 탈춤까지 두루 섭렵한 박효진은 전통 계승에도 힘쓰면서 동시에 차별화된 작품 활동과 함께 독창적인 영역을 구축하고 있다. 2016년부터 솔로 프로젝트를 통해 전통 원형 자체를 창작의 일부로 여기고 있는데 다방면으로 과감한 창작 시도를 하고 있다. 최근에는 3개월 동안 스페인에 머물면서 한국의 가장 전통적인 공연부터 현대 창작 공연에 이르기까지 다양한 프로그램을 선보이고 왔다. 솔로 프로젝트 5. 즉흥산조는 연주자들의 즉흥적인 반응을 통해 현대적인 감성을 불러와 관객과 공유할 수 있도록 기획되었다. 지금 이 시대의 전통과 흐름을 이야기하고자 하는 이번 무대는 귀국 후 첫 공연으로 스페인에서 선보인 작품을 포함한다.

Encompassing traditional instruments to singing and talchum (mask dance drama), Hyojin Park strives to pass down tradition, while also considering the original form of tradition as a part of creative work. She has been making bold creative attempts in various aspects. Recently, she spent three months in Spain to present diverse programs from Korea’s most traditional to contemporary creative performances. Solo Project 5. was planed to share the modernistic sensitivity with the audience through performers’ improvised play of interaction and sound. This performance, intended to discuss the tradition and flow of this era, is the first to present since her return and includes works she performed in Spain.

박효진 솔로 프로젝트5. 즉흥산조(2019.02.) 발표 이후 3년 만에 공개되는 이번 프로젝트의 주제는 <공존동생 共存同生>이다. 전통이라 불리며 대대손손 전해오는 분명치 않은 형태로서의 전통이 현재 어떻게 함께 있어야 하는지, 어떤 모습으로 같이 살아가야 하는지, 그 모습에 주목하면서 주제를 정하게 되었다. –과거, 현재, 미래-가 함께 공존동생하는 이야기를 담아 관객 참여 및 장소 이동형 공연에 전시가 더해진 형태로 선보인다. 공연자와 관객이 창의적 공동 작업에 의하여 공존동생의 의미를 풀어내는 과정에 주목한다. 또한 각각의 공연에서 남겨지고 기록된 흔적과 시간은 다음 공연이 진행되는 장소에 고스란히 전달된다.

전통종합예술의 다양한 범주 안에서 박효진의 동시대적 감성을 담아 선보이는 이번 작품은 같은 시간과 공간 안에서 벌어지는 ‘판’이 구현되는 일련의 과정으로서 -6월 수창청춘맨숀(대구), 7월 게토얼라이브(서울), 9월 코스모40(인천), 10월 섬진강 일대(곡성)- 그리고 ‘강화’와 ‘태안’에 걸쳐 순차적으로 그 작업 과정을 공유하면서 도약 진행한다. 이번 프로젝트는 ‘작품 전시회’ 혹은 무대 예술의 ‘극장 공연’과 같은 기존의 형식을 탈피하고 Conceptual Art, Interactive Art를 표방한다. 탈 경계 공연에 설치가 더해진 형태의 이번 작품은 살아있는 ‘소리’와 ‘움직임’ 그리고 ‘말’로서 우연성과 즉흥의 연결을 실험하고, 실연되는 장소와 참여하는 사람들이 누구인가 하는 것이 작품에서 중요한 지점이 된다.

It was unveiled three years after <Solo project 5>. The theme, <Co-existence>, was chosen, focusing on how the tradition, which is left in a vague form under the name of tradition, should stay along in the present day and what form it should coexist in. Within the diverse range of the passed-down traditional arts, –past, present, and future– coexist in the story that incorporates Hyojin Park’s contemporary sentiment. It unfolds through audience participation and in a relocatable format. It focuses on the process of the performer and audience collaboratively exploring the meaning of <Co-existence> through creative teamwork. The traces and time left from each performance are seamlessly transferred to the location of the subsequent performance.  

This work is a series of processes to demonstrate a ‘scene’ that takes place within the concurrent time and space. It takes a leap, sharing the working process respectively in ‘Daegu,’‘Seoul,’‘Incheon.’‘Gokseong’ and ‘Ganghwa,’ ‘Taean.’ It deviates from conventional formats, like ‘art exhibition’ or ‘theater performance’ of stage arts, and embraces Conceptual Art and Interactive Art, presenting boundary-breaking performances with installations. Also, the locations and the participating audience become crucial points in the artwork.
